We invite you to join us for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure deep into the heart of the Costa Rican rainforest. The lodge at La Danta is a 3-hour hike (from where we leave the 4-wheel drive vehicles) through rugged terrain and sits on a ridge overlooking Cacho Negro, an extinct volcano, and cascading hills of rainforest as far as the eye can see. You'll hike with our experienced guides around the reserve while learning about the delicate ecosystem, spotting wildlife, and swimming in the rivers, pools, and waterfalls. All meals are cooked in our outdoor kitchen over a wood-burning fire by our experienced team and are a highlight of the excursion. The lodge has gravity-fed running water with two showers (we have hot water!), two toilets, and sinks. La Danta has a main lodge with additional cabinas that can accommodate up to 12 guests. We plan trips throughout the year with a maximum of 16 trips per year. Spots fill up fast so booking as far in advance as possible is recommended.
