La Danta Salvaje ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our guests. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our website, make an inquiry, or complete a reservation. By using our website or booking with us, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. This policy applies to all personal data collected in connection with our services, regardless of how it is submitted.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

  • Process, confirm, and manage your booking reservation
  • Communicate pre-arrival logistics, safety briefings, and preparation materials

4. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Stripe (Payment Processing): Payment data is handled directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy. We receive only booking confirmation and transaction status — never raw payment card data.
  • Operational Partners: Names and logistics information may be shared with local guides or transportation partners solely to coordinate your visit. Such parties are required to handle your information confidentially.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by Costa Rican law, court order, government regulation, or to protect the safety and rights of guests, staff, or third parties.
  • Emergency Situations: In the event of a medical or safety emergency, we may share relevant Guest information with emergency responders or medical personnel.

5. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data transmissions are encrypted via SSL/TLS. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not store payment card information on our servers.

While we take reasonable precautions, no data transmission or storage system is 100% secure. You transmit personal information to us at your own risk. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information you send to us electronically.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Booking and reservation records are typically retained for a minimum of 5 years to comply with Costa Rican tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Communications may be retained for up to 3 years.
